At this point in the movie, what are we going to say about PDF files? You almost certainly use this format on a daily basis without even realising it: when you download an attachment from an email, when you save your Ryanair boarding pass for later printing, when you submit a report to your boss… It has become a standard since its development by Adobe in 1993, particularly since the advent of the Internet, because it ensures the preservation of the document’s original format and layout, as well as the integrity of the information it contains.

And, as the creator and driver of the Portable Document Format, Adobe is also the creator of the software that allows you to open, read, and print documents in this format .pdf 

We’re talking about Acrobat Reader, which is a very full app for viewing and reading the contents of PDF documents from a very clean and easy interface, fitted with various reading modes, and available for a variety of devices, including PC, macOS, Android, and iPhone, as well as as a portable programme.

All is good so far if all we need is a PDF viewer, but what if we need to work on these documents with a variety of additional tools? Then the free edition of Reader won’t suffice, and we’ll need to upgrade to Adobe Acrobat Pro DC.

What is Adobe Acrobat Pro DC, and how does it work?

It is Adobe’s technical tool for working with PDF files, with utilities and functions that go beyond simply reading and printing documents, as its name implies.

A true complete version of Adobe Acrobat that will last a lifetime. In reality, if you’ve used the free version of this software, you’ve probably come across a slew of features that require an Adobe ID and registration. And those are the main features of Acrobat Professional 2015, which you can now use without the app opening your window every two or three seconds.

This programme creates, opens, reads, and prints PDF files.

Inside the text, look for specific terms or phrases.

Modify the font, delete text bits, or whole paragraphs in PDF files.

Convert PDFs to other file types and export the content to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or as an image.

To make a single file, select several documents and merge them.

Comment on the text and make it public so that everyone can see it.

Changes the order of the pages that make up the book, adding new sheets or deleting some of them.

Sending PDF documents to be digitally signed is now possible.

Forms in PDF format must be filled out and signed.

Protect your documents by using a certificate or password to limit editing and encoding content.

How do I get Acrobat Pro installed and activated?

While the complete version of this software is paid, Adobe provides all users with a 7-day trial period during which they can use it for free and get to know it better before paying the 15 euros per month for unrestricted access.

The programme to work with PDF can be installed right away. After entering your Adobe ID on the official website, which is accessible via our download button, you can get an online installer of the software (the same credentials that you enter to download Photoshop or any other tool in the Creative Cloud suite).
