Darktable is a feature-rich image editing programme that lets you edit RAW files in a digital darkroom built to let you work with negatives and quickly return to the original in a non-destructive manner.
This utility will allow you to edit your images in a complete and professional manner with a large range of functions, as it supports over 400 cameras.
When you’re ready to work with your images, you can either import them from your computer or directly from the camera you’re using.
Darktable has a robust import framework that allows you to customize your imports and build things like time-lapse strips of pictures, among other things.
After you’ve opened your negatives, go straight to the dark room, where you’ll see some navigation screens. The left-hand menu contains functions for cataloguing images, obtaining information about them, opening the eyedropper, and managing masks.
The right side, on the other hand, will concentrate on all of the available modules for working with the image. When opposed to other similar methods, Darktable has the benefit of being non-destructive and having a history of improvements that you can consult or erase if you want to go back to your initial negative.
Darktable comes with a plethora of useful tools and features, making it an excellent option for working with your images.
In addition to anything listed above, the utility will allow you to work on monitors with 4K and 5K resolutions, as well as support for 3D RGB LUT and a variety of modules, shortcuts, and modes to make working with your photographs easier.
